Planning Your Event

The Event Center is poised to serve you in making your event come to life. If you would like to arrange a personal visit, please contact our office staff.

We ask that during your event, you observe the following guidelines. Our office staff is happy to answer any questions you may have.

  • The Event Center is a smoke free environment. Smoking is only allowed outside in designated areas.
  • The consumption of alcohol is allowed with the appropriate on-sale liquor license for the City of Minneapolis.
  • The Event Center will provide audio equipment on site for your event. We ask that you verify all audio/visual compatibility in advance with our facilities coordinator.
  • The Event Center welcomes the use of additional decorations. Please check with our office staff to confirm what is acceptable.
  • Any musicians present at your event should plan to bring their own amplifiers. Please verify set up options with our facilities coordinator.
  • The Event Center is located in a residential area. Out of respect for our neighbors and in keeping with public ordinances, music must end at 11:30 p.m. and the guests gone from the premises by midnight.
  • The throwing of rice, confetti, birdseed, flower petals or similar items is not permitted.
  • The Event Center has ample parking in two adjacent lots. Street parking is also available, but we ask that you be mindful not to block driveways and be respectful to the neighborhood.

 

Next Steps

Once you’ve chosen the Event Center as the right place to hold your event, there are a few steps to take to ensure we best meet your needs:

Placing a Hold on a Reception Date: You may place a hold on your reception date for up to two weeks without a deposit. If you have not requested the contract by the end of the two-week period your hold will be canceled.

Requesting a Contract: At any point during the two-week holding period, you are free to request a contract. It will then be mailed to you and you will have ten business days to return it with the deposit to the office staff.

Confirming Your Date: A date is secured when we have a signed contract and a downpayment of one half the fee for leasing the space.

What To Do After Your Date Is Confirmed: Guests must comply with the contract requests for copies of the caterer's license, the liquor license, complete final payments and give directions on how the rooms should be set for your event.
